Larnell Lewis of Snarky Puppy Visits The Academy of Rock
As Principal of The Academy of Rock, Noam worked hard to bring the famous drummer Larnell Lewis to their schools in Singapore to provide training and work with their students and teachers.
Noam arranged an intense three day programme, whereby the Toronto born musician, composer, producer, educator and clinician spent time with Academy of Rock students and teachers.
Both the students and teachers were totally blown away with Larnell’s expertise and skill and thoroughly enjoyed meeting an expert musician who gave some fantastic tips and insight into how to become a successful drummer.
Noam Lederman said:
“It was an incredible 72 hours filled with fun and laughter whilst students and teachers learnt from a top class musician. Larnell’s workshops were truly inspiring for the students and we know that he will have left the students with a real sense of motivation and drive. We feel it is important that both our students and teachers continue to develop and strive to be the best, which is why we run programmes like this.”
Often referred to as one of Canada’s most promising up and coming drummers, Lewis has been featured on the cover of Drums Etc, a national drumming magazine. Larnell has performed with various artists ranging from Fred Hammond, Lalah Hathaway, and Lisa Fischer, to Kellylee Evans, Molly Johnson, and Snarky Puppy. In addition to his work as a stage musician, Larnell is currently a part-time professor at Humber College in the Faculty of Music.
